Miguel González-Fierro has a Ph.D. in robotics under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Balaguer of Universidad Carlos III of Madrid and Dr. Thrishantha Nanayakkara of King’s College of London. He joined the Thrish’s Lab in 2011. He also created a technological start-up called Samsamia Technologies, expert in computer vision and machine learning.
The main topic of his thesis was postural control of humanoid robots using learning from human demonstrations and skill innovation. He is also interested in machine learning, kinematic and dynamic control, gait generation, computer vision, human-robot interaction, trajectory generation, path planning and robot simulation.
He studied Industrial Engineering at Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, Spain, which is a 5 year degree, where the first 3 years are basic knowledge and the next 2 years are a specialization. Miguel’s specialization is Electrical Engineering. He also has a Master’s degree in Robotics and Automation.
